Quinta dos Capinhas has once again been recognized among the best wines in the Algarve. Red Wine Alicante Bouschet 2020 was awarded a silver medal in the 2023 competition of the Wine Commission of the Algarve.
On May 26, the Convento de S. José in Lagoa hosted the 15th iteration of the esteemed Algarve Wine Contest. The Wine Commission of the Algarve (CVA), assisted by the Municipality of Lagoa, provided the technical direction for the competition.
An impressive lineup of over 100 wines from the Algarve region were put to the test, with a variety of whites, rosés, and reds from 26 distinguished producers.

The aim of the Algarve Wine Contest, as explained by the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA), is to honor bottled wines from the Algarve. The competition is designed to encourage the production of high-quality wines and to highlight the best vintages produced in the Algarve Region.
In a statement, the CVA expressed gratitude for the involvement of all the wine producers and judges and for the invaluable cooperation of the Municipality of Lagoa in organizing this event.
The win of the Capinhas Alicante Bouschet was a notable highlight, serving as a testament to the exceptional quality and craftsmanship that the Algarve region has to offer.
